IntroductionChinese Folk Music is a Chinese instrument ensemble, and belongs to the Connecticut Chinese Culture Association (CCCA). We think it is very important and exciting for talented Chinese instrument players in the community gather together, play our favored Chinese instruments, appreciate the power of Chinese folk music, and present its beauty to our community. With players of Er-hu, Pi-pa, Di-zi (Chinese flute), and Guzheng, our band meets once a week on Sunday afternoons, in New Haven/Yale University. Each practice lasts around 1-2 hours, and is initiated and led by a Yale student who is an experienced Guzheng player from Hong Kong. The performing opportunities will include CCCA Spring Festival Show, International Festival of Arts and Ideas and other community cultural events. We are still recruiting interested talents to join our band, players of any traditional Chinese instruments such as Er-hu, Pi-pa, Di-zi (Chinese flute), Guzheng and Yang Qing, Chinese drum, etc. You don't have to be a professional artist, and any amateur instrumentalist at the level of medium to high is highly welcome. Should you have any suggestions or comments, please forward to [email protected] Sincerely yours, RecruitmentWelcome letter form CCCA Chinese Folk Music Band |
