About CCCA Dance Troupe

CCCA Dance Troupe was founded in 2002 and created to promote the development and appreciation of Chinese dance and culture. It also provides opportunities for local interested talents to learn and practice Chinese dance, bring the grace and beauty of Chinese dance to the community, and better contribute to the cultural diversity of American society.

CCCA Dance Troupe members support and contribute to the mission of CCCA. We uphold the ideal that all the Chinese communities in Connecticut, including all social, cultural, scholastic and religious groups, etc., be united to promote the grandeur of Chinese culture, and to better serve and contribute to the cultural diversity of American society.

In ancient China, most dancers perform in the courts for royalty and the nobles, while some Chinese folk dances originated as a form of street dance. Most of the Chinese dances are based on traditional folk stories and performed for harvests and celebrations. Similar to the United States, China is a nation of many different ethnic groups. Each has its own history and tradition, and maintains its own distinct customs and style of dress. This makes the Chinese dance form richer and more colorful.

Our Dance Troupe meets regularly in New Haven, Connecticut, and we receive training from experienced Chinese dance teachers. We hope to be able to perform a repertoire of high-quality Chinese classical, folk, and ethnic nationality dances in the near future.

We regularly perform in Chinese cultural shows, festivals and community/school celebrations. We would love to bring our feature dances to your community celebrations or cultural events.

If you are interested in joining us or inviting us for performance in your event, feel free to contact us at [email protected].

Sincerely yours,

CCCA Dance Troupe
